Børge Mogensen called his home a ‘laboratory’ based on the philosophy that your own home is the best place to test design and functionality. Børge Mogensen was a man who used his surroundings for his artistic endeavours. Sudden inspiration would be scribbled down – it did not matter where. Even earlier works could fall victim to Mogensen’s spontaneity. For example, he created his famous hunting chair on the back of a matchbox in the early hours of the morning. Børge Mogensen is a creative thinker and master furniture designer rolled into one.
